- Boards
are placed 30 feet apart, back of the board to the back of the
board, or 26 feet
from the front of the board to the front of the board.
- A
game is played to 21 points, win by 2. Scoring is almost
identical to horseshoes, with each player tossing four bags, alternating
tosses with their opponent until all bags are tossed. A
bag landing and remaining on the board is one point, a bag going
in the hole is three points. Points are cancelled just like
in horseshoes. For example, Player A has two bags on the board
and Player B has one bag on the board and one bag in the hole.
The resulting score is Player B receives TWO points for the round.
Team B then has the honors and tosses first in the next
round, since they were the last team to score.
- Players
should not pass the front of the board when tossing. This
is like the foul line in bowling.
- A
bag that lands in front of the board and bounces on shall not
count and should be removed immediately,
before the next bag is thrown.
- If
Player A's toss causes a bag of Player B's to go into the hole,
the points belong to
Player B, so be careful when your opponent has one on the edge!
Also, a player may knock an opponent's bag off the board, negating
the point.
- A
"skunk" or "shutout" is 12-0.
Equipment
Standards
- The
boards should be 2' wide by 4' long, with the 6" hole centered
near the back of the board. Boards should slope from back
to front. All of CTGW's game sets are precisely matched
to the same exacting standards.
- Experienced
players will learn to use the trajectory of their toss to
allow the bags to slide up the slope towards the hole, or
land it softly with little or no slide, depending on the location
of other bags on the board.
- Bags
should be 6" square and weigh approximately 1 lb. each.
All of CTGW's bags
are precisely matched to assure consistant results.
